New session at the Minerva - Hull Monthy, second Tuesday. Traditional music, musicians
and singers welcome. The Minerva, Nelson Street, Hull Marina, Hull,
HU1 1XE Tel: 01482 210024 New Arts Centre and new singaround / session for Goole Junction
is a brand new purpose-built arts facility in the centre of Goole, opening
on the 7th. of November 2009. Replacing the old Gate theatre which closed
in July. The Junction will present a varied programme of live performance,
film, music and comedy. The first folk event will be Folk in the Bar,
in Walkway - Junction's cafe bar on Thursday 3rd December 2009. The
event will be a session / singaround format, where anyone can turn up
and perform; just ask for Martyn Barker on arrival. This will be a regular
event on the first Thursday of every month. The Wolds Country Folk Club
at Driffield Community Centre, Driffield, East Yorkshire
is now closed. It is proposed to start a new Singers/musicians evening at The Traveller's Rest, Crimple Lane off Ruding Lane, Harrogate HG3 1DF Note;- There are two Traveller's rests in Harrogate, the one you want is just off the Harrogate - Wetherby road near The Great Yorkshire Show Ground. The event starts with a trial run on Monday May 24th at 8-00pm. The intention is to meet on the first monday of each month. Contacts are Linda Pearson 01423 523848 and Maureen
Nicholson 01423 503923 Heatherdean Dance Club (Harrogate) moves venue From 11th January 2010 the club has relocated and is no longer held
at Heatherdene Cottage, though the name will remain unchanged. Unfortunately
Heatherdene Cottage - which was the Harrogate Hospital Sports &
Social Club HQ - has closed down. Heatherdean Dance Club have had to
move to a new venue - Oatlands Mount Club, Coronation Grove, Harrogate,
HG2 8BU at short notice. There have been three dance sessions at the
new venue and everything has worked out brilliantly. It is therefore
our intention to stay there for the forseeable future. New Storytelling club in York "Ales and Tales" opened on
5th January and will operate on the first Tuesday of every month at
the Golden Fleece, Pavement in York. Free entry for all tellers or listeners.

in future will be held at The Beaconsfield, Galgate, Barnard Castle
DL12 8ES. The club will continue to be Monthly on the last Thursday,
8.30 pm Station Folk Club, Huddersfield The folk club which meets on the first Thursday of the
month at The King’s Head is temporarily cancelled. The pub is
being refurbished over the next few months so the club will resume when
the work is done. The restart date will be posted on this website when
it is known Morley Folk Club can now be found at The Morley Dashers

till Wednesday 15th September 2010 New club for Slaithwaite. Enoch's Hammer Folk Club is a new venture to be held
in the upstairs room at The Commercial, Slaithwaite. on the 2nd Friday
of the month (except August) at 8pm. Folk musicians, singer songwriters,

Pack Horse Folk and operates every wednesday night 8.30--11.00, upstaires

information. New Venue for Barnsley Folk and Acoustic Nights ( Barnsley Folk Club) Following an Emergency
General Meeting Barnsley Folk club have decided to move their Folk
and Acoustic Nights to Barnsley Trades club
commencing Monday May 17th. The new venue is some 300yards down Racecommon
Road, closer to town, this is near the Townend roundabout and is very
accessible with off street parking. The room is downstairs and presents
very few difficulties. Fleur De Lys Folk Club Move with the closure
of the Fleur De Lys pub in Sheffield, the club has moved to :- The Hearty
Oak, Northern Common, Dronfield Woodhouse, S18 8XJ. All other aspects,
e.g. 2nd Tuesday, contact details, etc, remain the same. Wath Sunday Singaround moves venue Wath Sunday Sigaround has returned to its original home,

Blacksmiths Arms at Rothwell has opened again
with a new landlord. The Reely Grim Folk Dance Club will be fully operational
every third Tuesday of the month from May 18th 2010 New Session in Messingham There will be an
acoustic session starting Sunday 28th Febuary at the Horn Inn at Mesingham
near Scunthorpe from 7.30pm . Ep'th Folk Venue Change The
now weekly Ep'th Folk Club will be held at ‘The Mowbray Arms’
fortnightly from Wednesday 14th. October 2009 and on the alternate Wednesday
evenings are continuing at the private venue which they have been using
