The Midgley Pace Egg play is an old tradition within Calder High School,
and has been performed by the school for many years now.
The story is based around Saint George's triumphs and the whole play
boasts of his great champion status. Throughout the performance three
challengers try to defeat Saint George (Bold Slasher, Black Prince
of Paradine and Hector), The play consists of eight characters.

- Middleton Mummers
Annual Tour of South Craven, Sunday before Christmas Eve. Nine years
so far. Performance mid afternoon at Middleton, before performing
in 5 pubs in Cowling, Sutton in Craven and Cross Hills. All members
come from hamlet of Middleton or nearby village of Cowling.
We perform a combat play. Each year the part of the Turkish Knight's
relative and Beelzebub features celebrities in the news or an important
news item. This is to give relevence for a modern audience and involves
script revision each year.

Based in Ripon, North Yorkshire. Perform traditional-style mummers
plays
Formed 1986 to perform a traditional-style play celebrating the 1100th
anniversary of the granting of Ripon's civic charter; which is still
performed annually, in Ripon, during St. Wilfrids Week ( first week
in
August )
Subsequently researched two traditional plays which are performed
over
the Christmas season in the villages of origin, Skelton-on-Ure and
Topcliffe.
Also have a couple of written items in the same style trotted out
at any
time of the year.
